The population of Wales hasn’t had much good news over the last few years when it comes to their dental health, and the latest bad news is that Welsh children as young as 5 years old are having surgery to remove tooth due to tooth decay.

When it comes to children’s dental health, Wales has the worst track record in the UK. The reason for the problems seem to be a basic lack of knowledge about dental care, including poor diets that are high in sugar, and a lack of regular brushing.

In fact, 41% of Welsh children had tooth decay at the time of the last survey that was conducted in 2011-2012.

Further shocking research showed that 31% of Welsh people admitted to failing to brush twice a day, and4% of those admitted that they didn’t brush on a daily basis even once.
